Well, our research has told us that this year’s bridal fashion will be heavily influenced by the 2020/21 lockdown. From what we can see, it’s going to go one of two ways; Sleek / Classic / Simple, or Brides will want to show off after a year of lockdown and really go for it with statement designs, colour or sparkle.
Over the last year, there has been a huge rise in people supporting their local economy and ‘buying British’ and this will mean that local dress designers and boutiques will see a surge in sales. This, coupled with the need/trend for micro weddings, will see a rise in sleek and simple designs
We’ve chosen our top 3 favourite wedding dress trends from one of our amazing designers in our Lincolnshire boutique – Ronald Joyce.
1 – Sleeves
From dramatic billowing sleeves in sleek satin to blousy boho sleeves in tuille, sleeves are back! We love the trend for sleeves here at Osh Gosh Gowns and hope it’s here to stay.
Florence by Ronald Joyce is a great example of this trend for statement sleeves. Osh Gosh Gowns is a Ronald Joyce wedding dress stockist in Lincolnshire so we have an array of beautiful Ronald Joyce Gowns to choose from.
If you’re more of a boho Bride, the floaty or sheer sleeves like this Donata wedding dress, also by Ronald Joyce, may be more your style.
Whatever your vibe is, statement sleeves are a really big thing this year.
2 – Backs and Bows
Oversized bows and interesting backs on your wedding dress are very in right now.
Bows are also an excellent way to update your dress if you have had to postpone from your 2020 wedding and had already bought a dress. Simply add a big bow and it’s bang up to date for your 2021/22 wedding.
Such as this beauty from Ronald Joyce. Meet Nancy. With her low back and big bow she is bang on trend!
Or Delsie, with this gorgeous bow on her shoulder. Also by Ronald Joyce.
See how getting a seamstress to add a bow could bring your 2020 dress right up to date?
We have seamstresses available at our Lincolnshire boutique who can add these for you or otherwise alter your wedding dress to freshen up the look without having to buy a whole new dress.
If you’re in the Lincolnshire area, do feel free to make an appointment and pop in to discuss your options.
3 – Necklines
High necklines, unusual ones, adaptable ones, will add a real touch of drama to your dress and will be huge in 2021.
As with some of these Ronald Joyce beauties below, their high necklines are also touching on the trend for a more modern lace as opposed to vintage lace.
We can’t wait to start serving our lovely Brides again once the boutique opens in April and we’re really looking forward to seeing what’s popular with you all!
